N on ever "needs" <144HZ. I'd argue higher resolution is a better upgrade than refresh rates higher than 144hz
Well the problem is, better for what? Better if every customer is only looking for the things you are looking for? Yes. But also a stupid viewpoint. Because people want different things than you. The people who want 240 hz monitors know what they want, and if you don't want one, shut the fark up about them.

Or I can pay 40-60 bucks more for 2K IPS 144Hz whenever other display deals come up. This is not a good deal.
Well yea if you want 2k 144hz, then by all means get it. And for the people who want 240hz (which is clearly not you), this is a good deal. It's only not a good deal because you don't want 240hz, therefore it's not a product for you (which is different from "it's not a good deal"). In order for it not to be a good deal, you are welcome to show us the other 240hz monitors. NOT, monitors that don't compare and are also more money? Wow you're smart. The thing is i've looked heavily at 144 hz 2k monitors and have a couple of them (well they are 165 hz but close enough). You will get no where near the response times that this here dell can give you as you will out of any 144hz 300 dollar panel.
