Not trying to start an argument, but this is definitely not espresso. Let's not confuse people. I love my Nespresso machine, but this does not make espresso.

It makes delicious coffee, and a sort of deep, coffee concentrate with the smaller capsules. But not espresso.

If you come in expecting an espresso you've had before from somewhere, and you try this, it's night and day difference.

But I like the flavor and convenience of this machine. The process they made is interesting, if not slightly gimmicky, but it seems to work. The foam you see is not real crema, or anything like it. It's just aeration from the spinning. It looks nice and gives it a nice feel.

James Hoffman reviewed this once and said (I'm paraphrasing) that for fun, airy, nice coffee, it was a convenient solution.
Actually not wrong. That guy was talking about the model featured here, Vertuo line, which in fact costs $1 or more per pod. No 3rd party pods for Vertuo due to patent. What you're talking is the original line, which this model is not.
No they are not compatible. Keurig (k-cups) are basically drip coffee equivalent while Nespresso is for espresso beverages. My understanding is that the k-cup patent expired a while ago so you'll see a lot of 3rd party (non-Keurig licensed) pods in the market. For Nespresso pods, it's a bit more complicated. The original line pods are similar to Keurig in that you can find 3rd party pods (of varying price and quality). However, this "vertuo" line is still under patent, so you can only get pods directly from Nespresso.

We have a keurig and an original line Nespresso and we're very happy with both. I'm definitely glad we didn't get a vertuo line though since we really like the cheaper Peet's pods. We almost never buy the Keurig brand or Nespresso brand pods.

Good deal. I love my nespresso, have almost had 1 year now and no issues. My MIL had issues early on but Nespresso was quick to fix it and get a replacement to them. Great customer service.

In for one.

Have the original line and love it for small amounts of coffee. Never thought I would get to see a discounted price at 60% of MSRP. Ironically my milkfrother is having some issues...so two birds with a cheap stone.

Side note: the recommended storage container doesn't hold the vertuo capsules.

No. Different kind of pods. Coffee is better but costs a dollar a mug. Maybe less if you take advantage of Nespresso deals.

Have had this for less than a year and the darn thing leaked all over my countertop. Nespresso was kind enough to send a replacement but it was a refurb. So far works well, but beware and check often. Search online for ppl with similar issues.

This requires different pods than a Keurig. As of now, the vurtuo requires nespresso brand pods specific to this machine (there are other models of nespresso than can use off brand, but I have yet to find good off brand ones). This will make espresso and a cup of coffee- I love mine. It's probably the best affordable machine I've found to make espresso (unless you go up to the $800 plus espresso machines).

No, nespresso pods are completely different than keurig. Keurig makes coffee, nespresso makes espresso. The only similarity is they both make a form of coffee

For people comparing this to Keurig- Nespresso is very different tasting than Keurig. The coffee pods are different as well and for Nespresso there are pretty much zero third party coffee pods. So you have to buy the coffee pods from Nespresso directly or other plat that sell them. Pods are about a dollar each so it's not cheaper than Keurig.
But the coffee taste is much better once you find the flavor you like - there are many different flavors available.
I find that from time to time Nespresso has deals on their site for coffee pods usually you get extra pods for free or a coffee mug etc but not discount on price. I end up spending $100+ for coffee pods (I get multiple packs of different flavors to get the free shipping and the free gift).

I have seen Bloomingdale contains a Nespresso bar - so if you just want to taste it - that's the only place I know
