Since there are a lot of people (including me) who have been to locations where they have no idea how to scan the QR code (and made me pay by credit card instead), I wanted to share the locations here:
Cashier did not know how to get the QR code to work:
CA - Sacramento 1802 19th St.
Cashier was successful in scanning QR code:
please add your locations here (state first, then city)

Not sure anyone in the last thread ever found an employee that knew how to bring up the QR code for them to scan... I was going to wait until near the end, so hopefully by then, at least someone will know how to do it. Some of the fast food places here still don't seem to know how their own mobile app orders work.
Not sure what the last thread was about but in this deal you bring up the QR code on your PayPal app to pay with when paying in-store. All the employee has to do is scan the QR with their reader.
Panda Express isn't even franchised, it's fully corporate, so there's no reason for them to be having this much trouble other than extreme incompetence somewhere at the mid-tier management that is not rolling out the equipment and training for this kind of thing.
Have you seen their website or app? It is embarrassing to say the least.
No go for me. PayPal/Venmo decal on door. Went to check out & the lady said it doesn't work. So I asked her if there's special instructions to accept scan QR code on her end. She said it's just same screen as credit card or cash payments.
So I kept showing her my QR code & she got mad at me saying "why can't you just pay with a regular credit card? Is this app suppose to have free money in account? Is there some invisible money in this account that you hacked?"
Needless to say I'm done. Paid cash & I'm out.
It's called my credit card is attached to the account & is paid by my own credit card, dumb b!tch.
I think employees are trained to treat customers like shit so customers can back down & just pay cash. I could walk out but I feel embarrassed by her harassment so I caved in & paid to get it over with. When I walked out, I heard her laughing with her co-workers as if their plan worked 🤬

That is EXACTLY what happened to me.
I tried to pay by QR code and the cashier wouldn't even scan it. Just said it won't work. I said try, and they made a half hearted attempt with their scanner and said I told you it doesn't work.
And then says "Why don't you pay by credit card anyway - We only take cards or cash".
People in the back were staring at me and the casher. Just paid $13.xx with card and left. Unhappy with Panda Express management.
This deal is very YMMV. Be prepared to pay the full amount with Credit card, and count your lucky stars if you can pay via Paypal.
Ok, I got another PayPal acct that hasn't used with previous Venmo/PayPal deals for CVS and Panda and this acct received this offer. Just went to close by Panda, made $10.xx purchase and paid via PayPal app and the scanner at register counter. Walked out my car in parking lot to notice a email from PayPal saying that I've received back $10 in my acct
Again, if you don't see the offer in your PayPal acct this time, it means you've redeemed it already previously. So, creating a new account will get you this offer.

I have never used paypal QR code payment...and I just did it...but no reward..I'm gonna contact them.
It took two people to figure out to get venmo to work when the venmo deal happened.
It's insane to me that panda express would roll out this functionality and then train no one on how to use it. It's always so mind numbing how dumb management in general is universally.

Seriously? After all that, you caved and paid?
You should have done an about-face and headed for the door.
Don't let people pressure you into backing down...you were in the right; besides the food is
I saw the offer logging into the Paypal website from a browser, it was not on my app.
For those who r not sure if it will work, go and buy a $10 Panda Express GC. If it doesn't work, just walk away. If it does work, u can turn around & use it on a purchase, or save it to use at another time. I was even able to go straight to the cashier and say I wanted to buy a GC for $10 (the GC were right by the registers). The people were clogged at the food selecting area so I bought the GC without inconveniencing anyone, in and out very quickly. The cashier did have to do something special. When I was waving the QR code & she saw, she said 'oh' and 'just a minute'. She selected or tapped on something on the register and said 'ok, now'. Qr code was read & processed with confirmation by Paypal. So my Panda Express knew how to do it. I had Panda Express just the other day, so i wanted the GC to use later.

I did the CVS offer on both Paypal and Venmo.
