Since there are a lot of people (including me) who have been to locations where they have no idea how to scan the QR code (and made me pay by credit card instead), I wanted to share the locations here:
Cashier did not know how to get the QR code to work:
CA - Sacramento 1802 19th St.
Cashier was successful in scanning QR code:
please add your locations here (state first, then city)

Not sure anyone in the last thread ever found an employee that knew how to bring up the QR code for them to scan... I was going to wait until near the end, so hopefully by then, at least someone will know how to do it. Some of the fast food places here still don't seem to know how their own mobile app orders work.
Not sure what the last thread was about but in this deal you bring up the QR code on your PayPal app to pay with when paying in-store. All the employee has to do is scan the QR with their reader.
Might give this a try this weekend.

I just went to my Panda Express and both Venmo and Paypal did not work. I brought up my QR code to scan, but the machine that scans the code just beeped like crazy and did nothing. I didn't have my wallet to pay with cash or credit card so I just left. They will probably toss my order too. What an embarrassing and wasteful experience.
Sharing my experience in case it helps others.......
I saw the offer on PayPal when I logged on the other day but I did not see it today so I called PayPal.
PayPal told me I had to get in touch with Panda Express and gave me the phone number.
Panda Express said they had no idea why PayPal would have me call them.
I called PayPal back (by now it was the principal of it) and had Panda Express on a conference call with them. I assured them I was not playing monkey in the middle so they needed to figure it out.
Long story short Panda told me I would not have any offer listed on my account. I just had to go into a Panda and make a purchase for 10. or more and it would automatically be processed and credited back to my PP account. I was also told by Panda that if there was a problem just call them back.
I stopped at a Panda today and purchased a 10. gift card. The 10. was credited back to my PayPal account before I reached the exit.
My receipt also had a survey which took less than 2 minutes to do. The code I got to enter on the receipt is valid for a free entrée item with the purchase of a 2 entrée plate. There is no expiration date listed.
Hopefully this will answer some questions some might have.
Buying gcard sounds like a safe and smart plan, rather than ordering and have to pay if it cannot scan through
Thanks. I'm aware of payment with Paypal using QR code. I died that in CVS earlier. However this guy at Panda Express refused to use the QR code. He half tried the scan and then just told me it doesn't work.
It's kind of embarrassing in a restaurant to hold up the line for payment. So I had to pay with credit card. Maybe another location of Panda Express would do it right - I guess. This should be a YMMV deal as it is location specific.
Thanks for the detailed steps. Glad it worked for you!
LOL at Slickdeals redemption embarrassment factor, should be assigned to all deals. I don't like to be that person either, the one at the supermarket holding up a long line because their 25 cent coupon didn't get doubled or whatever.
I wouldn't do this even if I was hungary! The drive, effort, and embarrassment when it doesn't work is too much! It's not like Panda's fud is great either...it's edible for Jhinese fud at best! I'M ASIAN...THAT'S WHY I KNOW....
I'm Asian too, I've finally come to accept Panda Express as basically its own type of food that I sometimes can enjoy, same goes for Taco Bell and Mexican food...

So I just did this deal and it worked out for me-
1. The offer didn't show up in my Paypal app or on my Paypal dashboard on the web site. But OP's link to the deal has the terms and the offer seems to be valid for all.
2. My Panda had a sticker on the front window for Paypal /Venmo payments.
3. The scanner in my store is on the customer side in front of the cash register, so I just opened up the Paypal app and brought up the QR code as per directions here, and put my phone screen in front of the scanner.
4. The scanner beeped and I pulled the phone away assuming it had read- it hadn't. I did the same exact thing 2 or 3 times, nothing happened.
5. Finally I just held my phone in front of the scanner for a few seconds. It started repeatedly beeping, but after about 4-5 seconds of this my phone buzzed and there was a Paypal notification that I had paid. Not sure if all the beeping is normal, but that's what happened for me.
6. After I left the restaurant I checked my Paypal account and the credit had already been posted (less than 5 minutes after I paid.)
Finally, Panda has a program where they ask you if you want to round up the bill and donate the difference to charity. So I guess if your bill was $9 and change after tax, you can round it up to $10 even.
Great offer but unfortunately no luck in Houston (cypress station). Cashier said the scanner doesn't work, let it beep a couple times because she probably already had dealt with it before me.

Venmo took about a week to credit my account. PayPal was instant.
I could see the Venmo offer in app, but no offer in the PayPal app.
No hassle with the scanner. Free food always tastes great to me.
confirmed using QR code and purchase over $10. hmm
