First deal and admittedly not super slick, but cheapest I've seen!

$5 more online which includes shipping ($49.99), so in-warehouse is cheapest.

You didn't get scammed. You paid less than what it costs new. It also seems that that is the market rate for a used controller. You are just perceiving this deal as something you would prefer.
Decent price, but I'm wondering if these are the first generation still. I had two of these from the costco bundle last year and the right trigger on both of them crapped out quickly. The QC on these was terrible, you can Google it and see all the people with the same issues. Had to jump through hoops with customer service to refund me for one of the controllers without returning the whole console. Bought the daystrike camo version, it has updated bumpers with more texture and it has been rock solid so far, no sticky bumpers or drift.
Great deal. hoping for $40 at some point before Christmas, but if you are in need now...

Can these be used for gamepass PC games? I have only read Xbox One controllers are compatible without extra software.

Yes. You can connect to PC via Bluetooth or usb-c cable and play PC gamepass games or xcloud streaming games.

That's why I'm thinking getting this from Costco is the way to go (extended warranty with their cc). Didn't realize that these were crap, last gen Xbox one controllers seem to only last about 1.5 years if you're lucky. Don't know what's going on because the 360 controllers lasted years before they would get flakey.
