Nice, new lowest price from Amazon. I'm assuming the holiday return policy applies to this TV too, which is anything can be sent back until January 31st.

Too bad they didn't make a 75" version of this model. The 75" 7 series is an IPS model compared to VA models of the other sizes.

Someone in the previous U8G sale post said Hisense will not refund taxes if you use that 100 Day return, and they also made it sound like it was a hassle to return.

Amazon's holiday return policy is the better way to go. January 31st is over 100 days away, returning items to Amazon is easy, and you'll get refunded on taxes too.


EDIT: Price on Amazon increased $4.80 to $1099.48

Not really, no. My buddy tried to do with this TV (just delivered day before yesterday) and was spoonfed some BS about how he didn't qualify because he had already opened the TV. AND the TV he received had a dead spot on it.

Despite this I was still gonna try to take advantage, need a TV for my new home, but Amazon refuses to honor my movers coupon.

At this point screw them, I will price match at Best Buy or something. It's hard to believe how incredibly shitty Amazon has become in just a few years.

Tl;Dr Don't count on any sort of guarantee or return policy from them for major purchases unless you have a lawyer on retainer or something. They won't honor it.

Again, no. Returning something cheap is easy on Amazon, but they will fight you tooth and nail if you try to return a TV like this to them.

I for one dont understand why these retailers/etailers have return policies longer than 30 days for opened items

If its an unopened item given as a gift and the recipient wants to return after the holidays I understand that...due the possibility of the timing gap between the purchase and the gift being received

But the potential of allowing someone to use an item for a few months and return it has opened a huge issue for people abusing it

I was going to get a U8G but ended up going with the X90J from COstco despite the higher ratings for Hisense. If they made a 75" model I'd be very tempted, but only with a longer, reputable warranty added. The Hisense is a better TV out of the box but long term reliability, customer service, and QA are a bit questionable or at least not yet proven.
