I currently have a 6th gen X1 Carbon and love it. This one would be an upgrade in every way, except my current machine has the 14" WQHD (2560x1440) (non-HDR) display. Wondering how much worse this might be, or if it's a big deal. Any input?

I also have a X1 Carbon 6th gen, though mine is the 2560x1440 HDR display.
Personally, I am keeping my 6th gen because:
- 6th Gen still has quad core processor
- 6th Gen still has legendary Thinkpad keyboard travel (7th gen started to reduce travel)
- 6th Gen can be undervolted to vastly improve battery life
- 6th Gen has socketed wifi card (Easy $25 to upgrade Wifi/Bluetooth)
Note: The X1 Carbon 6th gen is my backup/travel laptop. I have a T14s Thinkpad AMD 4750u 8-core with 32gb RAM for my primary machine. (Which is hooked up to external monitor, keyboard, etc...)

Thanks, very helpful.
I'm 99% sure I didn't get the HDR option with mine. I can't check in my Lenovo account because I used some Perks at Work account to purchase it and I don't have a way back in to that one now it seems. But under settings/display/windows HD color settings, under "Display capabilities" I have "yes" under "stream HD video" but "no" under the other two. And my screen is definitely glossy. It reports as "Wide viewing angle & High density FlexView Display" in Speccy. And no HDR option on known HDR videos on YouTube in Edge, and I have "Stream HDR video" on & "don't allow streaming HDR video on battery" off on that same Windows settings screen.
I didn't know about the change in keyboard travel, or the undervolting capability. Haven't really done any laptop research since this I purchased this one. And I recently upgarded my home wifi to wifi 6, so I need to get that card swapped out, also didn't realize that was possible. I did upgrade the SSD on this one so I've been in there before.
The 6th gen is also a backup/travel laptop for me, lightweight and I use it primarily for remote work when I'm on a different job site and not at home. My original idea was to use my 6th gen for Lightroom/photoshop more "in the field"/away from home, but I have a much better self-built PC for that, some gaming, WFH, etc. and that's what I use in practice. And I'm not so much into media consumption on the 6th gen, as I use either my phone away from home or an LG OLED for that and gaming, etc at home.
I use native 2560x1440 resolution on my 6th gen but with a 200% scaling because it's more comfortable. I'm on the fence, but no reason to rush into this that I can see. I think I'll just look into getting Wifi 6 on my gen 6.
