Pretty much like the $295 Dell. Bigger SSD. If this is what you can afford it isn't terrible. You will really need to pickup another 4GB stick of ram to make this a decent experience.

It has a USB-C port, which is not easy to find on cheap laptops!

(and two USB3 SuperSpeed ports, in case anyone asks).

If $279 is your budget, then this is the laptop for you. You'd be hard pressed to find better specs for the price. Your bottleneck here will be the 4 Gbs of RAM… but that can be easily upgraded later.

Anyone able to confirm:
- 2 SODIMM slots for memory?
*- I noticed that, on the Walmart product page, it says "max memory 4GB" which makes me think the RAM is soldered on, with no way to upgrade.
- do video through USB-C port?

Unfortunately, the product specs (thanks for posting, Suryasis!) don't specify.

I did mention both of your questions in my spec. The Type-C port is Data Only, nothing else and it has two memory slots which you can access. The Walmart spec is incorrect.

Yes the DDR is upgradable as is the M.2

It comes with one 4GB stick.

Go to page 30 to see how it is done then on. This is the Service Manuel.

I don't know if they have changed it with the newer models, but I had a HP Chromebook 14" and loved it save for one thing, screen was WAY too dim, like 250 nits.

The last image on the Walmart page shows the memory isn't upgradeable.

I have a similar laptop with 10th gen processor. I was able to upgrade RAM to 32 GB, and I use it to record gameplays via usb3. Works great for that, and it will tackle all regular tasks like a champ.

Great laptop! I use external mouse and keyboard when at desk but the trackpad is fine for "sofa" usage…
