New Generation - up to 1050MB/s - $119.99 - this is a brilliant deal.

Consider the OLD GEN is only 550MB/S (which I have) is listed at $139.99

edit: the comment above for new/old is referencing the PRO, which is a different model number.

nice find OP. I also saw that it says "Get 10% back on amount charged to an Amazon Prime credit card" which is nice for those with that card.

This is crazy, last year I got this drive (1st gen) from Best Buy for $79 on clearance. Maybe I just got lucky that day

Will research the Sandisk. I have 2 WD external drives, My Passport and Easystore, that are too fickle and temperamental to be relied on. Luckily I haven't depended on them for critical backup.

Both are the new gen, but different tiers. When Sandisk updated them, the "extreme" was updated to USB 3.2 Gen 2x1 interface (10 Gbps) and the "extreme pro" was updated to 3.2 Gen 2x2 (20 Gbps) interface. The model numbers end in 61 and 81 respectively.
