I was deciding between this and the UR55 4K monitor. I never got the CRG5 to compare, but did compare the UR55 vs a 175hz monitor.
The results are that I'm very glad to use the 4K monitor. It is only 60hz, but the picture and clarity is awesome. It is great for productivity too with the split screen capability.
I tried it on various games and honestly the better picture outweighed any perceived smoothness advantage. I tried the same game on 4K60hz at 28", 3440 @100hz at 34" and 2560 @175hz on 27". I was hoping to be blown away with smoothness between 60, 100, 175, but honestly didn't notice a huge difference. The 100 was on a 34" monitor which made a great difference in view.
TLDR in IMHO 34" was the most immersive due to size and being a curved display. 100Hz is more than smooth enough.
The 4K monitor was second due to great picture quality.
The 175hz was last as the extra hz didn't add much and the picture quality wasn't as good as the 4K, or immersive as the 34".
I know this will be blasphemy form the Hz iS eVeryThInG! crowd. But there are things that effect a game more than raw frames. I'm also tired of hearing its only 60Hz in every monitor post. 60Hz is more than smooth enough for most gaming. More can be better, but not at the expense of immersion, or quality. At least for people not playing professionally which is 99.9% of the slickdeals audience.
1080p on a 27".. yeesh I'll never do that again. If you sit at a normal desktop distance it's going to be nothing but grainy pixels.
Who's downvoting you? Agreed 1080 is not best on 27inch.
It's okay. You can do things without problems. Gaming? Not so okay.
Office work okay.
250 bucks? NOT OK! Way overpriced.

Go look at the Dell. Or check out the M32Q
How so? My vision is poor and I regret buying my 1440p
