Costco T-Mobile generally gives back tradein value back in visa/master gift card after a month or two. So it is easy for people who want pay upfront rather than waiting for credits over 2 years.

Is the deal dead? I went to the links and it says magenta plan only
Saw that too but when I go to do an upgrade and hit next this pops up:

Want to trade in your old device for the $450.00 promotion?
When you get your new device, send us the old one in good condition.
We'll give you up to $450.00! We'll show you all the details in the cart.

It's still on then.

G8 has $600 trade in value?!?! What?!?!?!
G8 has a $300 trade in credit for regular accounts, and $600 for Magenta accounts.

I got mine today, when I turned it on, it gave me an option to download a SIM,
is this device dual SIM?
is eSIM supported by T-Mobile? if so is there any fees for it?
if I use eSIM and travel international - can I use domestic SIM and T-Mobile both?
Is there any performance issue on eSIM over regular SIM?

Sorry for lots of questions but thought this would be very helpful to me and other people on the thread.

Thanks.

I found few answers here https://www.t-mobile.com/support/...obile-esim

I still want to know about performance or any hassle using eSIM, can anyone please share their experience?

I just got mine and looks like it doesn't come with a sim, guess I'll have to get a 5G sim from T-Mobile unless the esim works

I've been using eSim on my pixel 4xl for 2 years, if the pixel 6 is any like the pixel 4xl, then I can answer these questions.
Yes, dual sim. I had both eSim and physical sim at the same time, both from T-Mobile, for a year
Yes, supported by T-Mobile, with no fees
Yes, but only after you get the phone unlocked, or temporary unlocked if travel internationally
No performance issues, at least not that I can notice

Side note, I got one of the pixel 6 phones connected to eSim, and got an error message at first about the phone needed to be unlocked, but the problem self sorted out soon after that.

I am guessing both are different numbers, correct?

If you want to disable eSIM, can you go back to your old SIM or do you have to activate new SIM? (in case you change the phone if that phone does not support eSIM)

Hey is anyone else having screen uniformity issues? On night mode my screen is a gradient from green on the left side to red on the right side. I am thinking to exchange through TMobile

I'm trying to activate eSIM (as I currently have on my Pixel 4XL) and it shows the same error, that phone needs to be unlocked. On hold with CS now to see what they can do about it.

Yes, different numbers

I haven't had to go back to physical sim, so I can't answer that.

Please keep us posted what you find out. On the other one of the pixel 6 I got, I was trying to transfer eSim over too, from pixel 4xl, but I couldn't, for the same error. Then I discovered that that new pixel 6 had wifi issue, so I didn't try to do eSim anymore. I'm returning that pixel 6 and reordering.

Mine now works! While in line to CS I tried to download eSIM again successfully. Try few times, it should go through Smilie

E-sim should works. I had e-sim on my pixel 4a 5g. So there's no reason why the 6 doesn't have it. But I do have a physical sim on the 6.
