GameStop's new promo for Pro Members is they are matching the cash value of the Switch trade-in with the store credit. So you will get either $220 cash or $220 in store credit. Normal the cash value is less.
If you just want to sell your Switch and use the money else where to buy an OLED or whatever, this is not a bad option. It's easier than selling on Ebay, Craiglist etc.

I mean I totally agree but it gets me over half way there. Sad that was all the tech they came up with in 4 years.

I have a v1 not hacked (pretty much have been hacking / rooting systems since Sega Dreamcast). What's the benefits of hacking the switch. I'm sure it wouldn't emulate newer systems very well (especially compared to the upcoming Steam Deck). Are you able to run Switch rips or no
Hard disagree speaking from my needs. If you mainly play handheld the new screen is much better as are the speakers and kickstand. It's worth it for $100-something cost factoring trade in. Also great return value for this system in general.
Also while the hassle changing systems thing is true, it is doable. If you have Nintendo online with the cloud back ups It's a lot easier. And another thing that helps is to Just move all of your pictures and videos to an SD card. Then you're pretty much only doing a data transfer for whatever games you have that don't have cloud backups (for me Splatoon 2).
when I was trading in my system, they let me have access to the new system before I made the purchase and pull everything off the old system onto it. I brought my own hotspot to make it easier, but they were cool giving me access to their web if I needed it.
