Same experience, i had bought this same model but returned it a week later (kept dropping connection to WIFI even though i have 1Gig internet and the modem is about 10 feet away from the door lock).

Bought the Wifi built-in model later from Costco and it worked flawlessly with the Wi-Fi .. zero issues for the past year. yes the battery dies faster on the Wi-Fi built in one (but that's common) but truly it depends on the usage. its not a hassle for me to charge it, love the fingerprint i highly recommend this over anything over the competitor.
