Decent option if you want to save some money. I've been researching this extensively and seems venu and venu 2 are pretty close. The 2 is an obnoxious $400 and adds a few relatively trivial features. 2 has slightly better sleep analytics and a new HR sensor which a minor refinement. The UI is more modern as well.

I would say if you're looking for a decent mix of smartwatch and fitness features this would be a good buy. Venu 2 if you want the latest and greatest, but you get 95% of the functionality with the 1.

Don't get a Samsung or Apple. Crap battery life. Your other options are Fitbit which has walled off some of the fitness features behind a paywall. For more fitness oriented watches try Coros, Polar and Suunto, but Coros Pace 2 seems to be the best in this price range (save for the build materials).

From what I've seen Garmin is the best option if you want to get some sort of hybrid smartwatch/fitness tracker. They've also been in the game for a long time and generally know what they are doing.

Fyi this is the older 2019 model, not the 2021 model. Any one have thoughts on it?

Agreed on all points. Anyone who has a tighter budget can snag a used or pre owned Venu on eBay for about $70 or so less. That's what I did a day or so ago.

Garmin is also seeking FDA approval for ECG functionality, but it remains to be seen how they'll leverage that when it comes. I am looking forward to seeing what happens!

look into Vivoactive 3 & 4 as well. VG battery life, although screen is not as nice as these.

Love mine. I've had it for two years. No issues
Love the screen
Love that it's not huge (falls in the middle of women's and men's sizes)
Music feature works great
Never take it off except to charge every 4-6 days.

How does this compare to the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro?

Is this true? I see mp3s listed in the Q&A section.. but people give different answers. What about Amazon music without subscription? Anybody know for sure?

Specs say there is a music storage for "up to 500 songs". Not sure if you can upload your own mp3 songs and listen them without any streaming app or not.

Amazfit looks to be a decent smartwatch but a somewhat inaccurate tracker. If you care about fitness I would not get it. If you mostly want a feature rich watch with some basic and semi reliable fitness tracking, it's probably ok. I didn't look into these too much after being disappointed with their accuracy.

This is what I own and love it. Recommendation: get a screen protector, though! Mine is a little scratched now because I failed to do that.

I think you're talking about the Venu Sq on eBay for $70, not the Venu 1 which is more like $100+.

Thanks Op! My vivoactive 3 hinge broke a few weeks ago and this was on my list of possible replacements. I was considering the vivoactive 4 or venu 2 for the better battery life but at this price I couldn't resist!
