And yeah, they often have 25% off sitewide sales or individual items that are on sale for 25% off or more. The big advantage this time is the free shipping. So compare prices (including shipping costs) for what you are buying, search slickdeals to see what it's been on sale for in the past, and buy appropriately.

I have challenged people to post screen shots of the BASE price increase and decrease (include the date and time from your desktop screen) and no one has been able to show it. I completely thought they changed the price too, but I was mistaken once I started trying to show proof. Example proof I have been shown is of the sale price from a site wide sale fluctuating, that's why I said BASE in all caps earlier and now. Other evidence I have been shown is the refurbished/pre owned vs blemished which of course is not the same darn thing because the condition is different.
I await your proof and wish you luck. You are a better person than me if you can show it.

Here is a Ryobi 18V inverter they added to their site this month:

It went out of stock right when the sale went live ($37.49 is a great price after discount btw).
Still out of stock... but look what magically appeared?

The same item with a $59.99 base price instead of the $49.99 price which they left out of stock and will probably pull from the site. This is the same product and same condition.
They do this stuff all the time and it's not based on anything other than how well the items sell. If they go out of stock during a sale, and come back with a higher base price, that is because with whatever system they use (probably a donkey in the stock room) they have decided they under priced the item.
This has happened to the glue guns, dual inflator, cut out saw, orbital sander, nail guns, rigid palm nailer, ryobi biscuit joiner and probably a dozen more (I used to track prices more regularly.
In every example above, the now base price high enough where adding a 20-30% discount brings the new sale price to what the base price used to be earlier this year

Or what they could be complaining about is that they just raised the base prices so new sale prices are at or just slightly below old base prices. See my post above for a bunch of examples.
I know you love to jump into DTO threads to defend, but before the excuse of "distribution/inflation/covid" none of the MSRP prices for those items have risen at Home Depot
Also what battery capacity should I get for a wet dry vac (3 gal version)?

Were my complaints are coming from, is that they put items on sale so frequently and mess with prices so frequently unless people shop on DTO routinely or track prices they have no idea when something is a good price. I mean the standard glue gun had a base price of $14.99 for awhile, and then $19.99 for awhile and last winter DTO put it on a sale for $9.99 more than once. It's current base is $24.99.
There business model appears to be "if it sells well, we'll raise the base price" which is absolutely fine, but it's all relative. We're now gushing over $29.99 pricing on the dual inflator when that was the base price for a very very very long time.

In regards to your HD example, you understand any deal that requires you to change store location is a store specific pricing error that should have sales shut off when the store runs out of local inventory but HD has been having website glitches that allow you to order for shipping until the warehouse runs out of inventory or until the item is flagged on the website for abnormal sales. Not really the same thing.

You're right it is stacking on the handful of items in the B1G1 sprayer promotion. Sprayer doesn't have much practical use to me but that makes a lot of those bundles much more attractive
I also used PayPal key with Freedom for 5% cash back.

I am calling out everyone saying they only raise prices during sales and then bring them back down. In your glue gun example, I saw that, and bought it when inflation was hitting before it got higher. The base price when there was no sale was still $19.99 and then $24.99 and never went back down. How is that dishonest, or a bait and switch? they are not constantly changing the base price so it's higher during a sale of xx% off then lowing it down when they have no sale going on. That's what everyone is claiming.
For everyone saying HD does not do anything like this, I just checked the 18V lawn mowers I was eying. The 13inch was $150 tool only, and $200 for the battery charger combo. Now they are both $30 more.

All this garbage is being exacerbated by inflation due to the past two years. Anyway mark the post and go back to the links, we already said what the base price of them are so it should be simple to visit once the sale is over and show the base price is lower.
