Turning down exclusivity is not the same as taking EG cash to offer your game as a freebie. He has been consistent, DARQ is multiplatform and if you so wish you can buy it on Steam (or any other platform) if you don't want to use EG. Nothing ironic or hypocritical about his game on there now.

This game looks awesome, but I hate the artistic styling. I'm not a fan of things being arbitrarily creepy. I guess if the plot is a "nightmare" or something, its okay.

They were probably made a really good business offer such as a long-term exclusivity deal for future titles, etc.

been wanting to play this for a while. i believe this is the game created almost entirely by one guy, who quit his job and taught himself to code and made this game over the course of several years, living off savings.
