Epiphone vs Gibson… other than price… is there really any major difference? Also, anyone know where to find a Gibson in the Colbat Blue? Supersonic vs non-Supersonic?

Yes, lots of differences. I'd recommend looking up some comparisons and reviews on YouTube.

These Epiphones are really nice for their price range but your comparing it to something 3x or more its price. Of course there is going to be material and craftsmanship differences.

The big question really is if this is the right price range for you and what you are looking for in a guitar. I play an Ibanez I have way more than my Gibson SG or American Fender Strat that are twice as expensive. It's all personal preference.

You are right, but in my experience, Fender, Gibson and Epiphone guitars got such a strong following and thus there is a huge support base. Whenever I want to upgrade or change something, from pickups, tuners, bridge, tremolo, tremolo block, nut to little things like pickguard, knobs, switches etc., I can always find the parts. Not so sure about other brands... Perhaps with the exception of some Ibanez models... Just my 2 cents...

Epiphone Studio for $420? Seems like too much for an Epiphone, you can add $100-200 and but Gibson Studio instead.

The first thing that struck me is the lack of edge binding compared to Gibsons. The Epiphones look like just a painted lump of wood compared to the more laminated appearance of the Gibsons. The big question is how they compare in feel and sound.

A brand new Gibson LP Studio normal price is $1600. Used ones are $800-$1200. If you know of a new Gibson LP Studio for $800 or less, send me a link.

I had a Gibson LP Studio, and it was the same. Satin one color finish. No binding whatsover, and that's why it's a Studio.

Btw, if you or anyone is looking for a Gibson Les Paul clone, with bindings, beautiful colors and finish, excellent playability, check out Agile guitars.
