Fwiw a good chunk of Amazon is small business as Amazon is just a distribution platform. Also, I'm all for supporting local/small business, but I'm not in the business of subsidizing their existence either. If it's nominally more I'll usually go small, but if it's a large purchase with potential for returns or exchanges, I choose my money and feeding my kids over feeding a business owners kids. Sounds harsh, but it is what it is and I would expect the same as a business owner. Have to compete, If not on price, then something else.
Why would you buy something from Amazon when you could support a business that specializes in the thing you're looking at buying?
Its a saying. But I'm sure you knew that and still decided to be a smartass on an anonymous internet forum.

Ccc says price drop 18 hours ago, so must have gone on sale everywhere. My experience is their shipping is faster than prime (1 state over) over and you don't have to go to USPS to pickup because the item is "bulky."

I can see 2 reasons, 1) 5% rewards on Amazon credit card, therefore lower cost and 2) Free Assembly. I think this one is not going to be as difficult as it was assembling the BJ 2 (400lbs on the BJ 2 vs 121lbs on the Kettle).

Does anyone have experience with this model? The biggest complain I saw on amazon reviews are 1) damage which is expected on shipping a large and heavy item and 2) lack of seals which causes leaks in turn difficulty controlling the temperature. AG is using UPS shipping and I don't think the driver is going to be happy delivering this item.

It's a steel kettle grill rather than a ceramic kamado style grill. I'd be shocked if you could keep the heat in much less making it seal tight so smoking is a pipedream. A Weber kettle is half the price while a real ceramic kamado style cooker is 5 times this price for same capacity by Kamado.

Absolutely buy it from Joe if possible. Customer service is awesome. I have the first version of the Joe and any issues I've ever had- send a pic and parts are shipped ASAP. One of the best purchases I have ever made.
