Not sure if this is nationwide or not, but my Costco just started selling Kirkland brand grass-fed butter for $9.99.

A friend of mine tell me that because this brand has the highest fat content, it's perfect for making THC butter, if you're in a legal state, that is.

Agree. I make homemade peanut/pecan brittles every Christmas. In these candies, butter really stands out in flavor, so it needs to be high quality. I've found both the Kirkland brand & KerryGold to be great, but I prefer the Kerry and buy it if there's a good sale on it like this one. 👍🏻

This is the only unsalted to make great ghee with, American Beauty is another brand but no longer comes in unsalted. Both are superior to Kirkland brand.

Not a significant amount. You can look at a nutrition label and look for grams of carbs (lactose is a sugar). This has 0g (which means <0.5g per serving size) which shouldn't cause issues. Some people can have sensitivities to things other than lactose (eg milk protein). Or the high fat content caused increase cholecystokinin release (hormone released in response to fat, which causes the gallbladder to squeeze, which can cause a cramping sensation in the upper abdomen).

It was unusual to call out a butter as being salt free, until rather recently. Hence the specificity.

I have to lol watching 'pro chefs' insist on using unsalted in a recipe that they then add salt to. Yeah, I know the salt content varies between butters but come on man!

I know. I just put it on my bread Smilie or in milk porridge (which usually takes fruit, not salt). I guess for chefs it's easier to judge how much salt goes into the recipe as I am sure they never truly measure salt. It is probably not as easy to adjust to salt in butter as different butters have different amounts of salt.

This butter is awesome. I switched from the store brand to this to make my bulletproof coffee in the morning. Can taste the difference. As for people concerned about fat and margarine...yes margarine has trans fats....better not to eat those. Also if you are doing a Keto diet (low in carbs) fats like this are good for you and you actually lose weight.
