N4000 is better IMO. I posted this based on believing it's better value for money on specs

Just bout the Mediatek MT8183 1.6GHz Processor open box might have to cancel. This has better specs.

thoughts on this for an offline video viewer unsure on chromebook for that. Micro SD slot is plenty for storage 1080P is great for video just don't know how it's gonna work without the Internet. I haven't had a chromebook since I got to Beta test the very 1st one's Google released

Chromebooks have a built-in video player. You can open locally stored videos (or those on a micro sd card) right from the Files application.

Thank you, so this should work with no internet? It will get updated when I get it and prolly never see the Internet again after that.

64 GB storage is great
4 GB RAM is meh. Will struggle with lots of tabs open.
TN panel has terrible viewing angles and poor colors.
Intel Celeron CPU is faster than MediaTek, but less power efficient. Battery life suffers.

I was about to jump on this but the TN display is a deal breaker. If you intend to use this for hours at a time, get an IPS panel. Your eyes will thank you, especially when you get to your later years.

Updates till 2026 I don't know maybe you could find a windows based computer and get a lot more use of it not really pay a whole lot more.

single core speed is better with Intel, but multi-core is better with MediaTec, it seems. This site says Intel is better performance per watts.
