This is a nice little saw for trim / paneling work. Obviously it's not for heavy construction or even 1x trim. it's often been offered for about $129 with a free promo (small) DeWalt battery -- that's how I got mine. I used it for some small paneling cutting for repair in an RV and also some household trim work. Overall I was happy with the tool and assuming you already have enough batteries this is a fair deal.

While I wouldn't use it daily for these things, I've ripped 1/2 inch plywood a few times with mine. I also cut off 2x6 overhang on my shed roof. For the fascia. This is not a bad saw at all.

Great saw, purchased for the same price a few months ago. Perfect for small, quick cuts and rips, when you don't want to take out the bigger circular saw. It is ergonomic, and works great!

I bought this last summer full price $150 and it's worth it imo. The comments above are spot on! Good saw for small to medium projects, just keep your expectations in check.

The dust port seems like a mess unless a vacuum is hooked up and that would be a pain for a portable battery saw.
Anybody also have the Dremel corded one to compare?
I like the portability of cordless but unsure about that dust port. Not even a bag like sanders have?

What tools do you use where the dust port actually does a satisfactory job without a vacuum or dust collection system being attached?

This is one of my best purchases of the year. I end up purchasing at Home Depot a couple of months ago for $99. They still had the $99 sticker on the floor so they sold it to me at that price. It saved my project. I built a 5x6 12 ft tall floor with 6 ft walls and roof deer hunting Tower. This was perfect to cut two by fours, cut down 4x4s into 2x2s and cut plywood. This tool so good, I consider buying a second one just to have on the side. I know you can use a circular saw and I almost got a circular saw that would have been bigger and still cordless, but this one working with one hand worked perfectly. I drove 3 hours to go pick it up and dad wants to cost saved so much more time for the project. It really was the vip. Before that was using a reciprocating saw and a chainsaw to cut my wood... They were not precise and even use a handsome just took too much time. There were many projects I've done for my wife and I wish I had this. I'm using jigsaw and oscillating multitool, but this one with the pants off of that. It's all about using the right tool for the job. And this is one that I think you should have in your collection.

Is it good for diy hardwood flooring? Like cutting 3/4 inch solid wood.

Anybody know how this compares to the new dewalt 12v 5 3/8" saw? Power wise.

Damn. I know I'll probably never use this and it will just sit in my Dewalt bag with my other power tools, but I feel like i have to buy it at this price because I probably need it real bad. Convoluted?

You will have to get the Ryobi steel tool hanging cabinet deal so they can hang neatly from the wall to remind you to use it 😈

I have the Milwaukee M12 Fuel 3" blade compact cutoff tool. It's has pretty decent reviews, but I haven't had the chance to use it personally.

This one is appealing because my primary family of tools is the Dewalt 20V line.

Could someone with experience using the two contrast them?
