Man Walmart sucks. I feel like their employees are on Slickdeals and just grab these deals for themselves. I saw the post go up at 8.18 pm and drove to Walmart which brickseek showed to have more than 6 units. I was there in 15 mins and the guy is like yeah I know those Chromebooks they are sold out

BS showed a store nearby as having 6+ in stock. I went there and saw 5 boxes stacked outside the cage behind the counter. I pointed to it and asked if I can get 2 and she said she can only sell me one. I know that's BS but ok paid for one and walked out. I sent my wife in less than 10 minutes later so she can buy one. She was told they were out of stock and like magic, the boxes were no longer on top of the cage. I was thankful to be able to snag one but I have a feeling those went straight to the back. I probably got lucky that I physically saw it in stock and pointed it out so she had no choice but to sell me one.

Thanks for the post. I know nothing about this particular unit, but could use something for basic browsing when I am looking for deals or booking the occasional room at a hotel. I assume this would be sufficient for that purpose. BS has a few stores listed with stock around me (unfortunately not my closest store though).

It's not walmart.. it's brickseek. Target and lowes both ban bs. I can barely check lowes prices on bs

Absolutely wrong. Brickseek doesn't have their own inventory database of what's at Walmart stores. They just tap into Walmart's inventory database. So blame Walmart if that inventory database is inaccurate. (But I agree the explanation is probably not store workers grabbing deals for themselves when the inventory number is that far off. I doubt that 6+ employees of that particular store hustled over to the electronics department tonight and secretly grabbed a cheap chromebook for themselves.)

Exactly this man. The employees just steal it as soon as they know the price is lowered. I was trying to find the boxes but I bet you they had already been taken to the back

The reason I doubt this explanation is, why do those particular stores have so many left in stock when every other store has sold out and Walmart finally lowers the price for final clearance? Unless the employee is hiding them long BEFORE the price gets lowered.

(Near me, two stores show 6+, while the other ten stores are sold out.)

I was able to pick 2 up this morning. The associate was taking them out of the cage to place them in the clearance isle. I asked for them and she began to place all 7 on the counter. I told her I only needed 2, I wasn't there to resell them. Let's try to let someone else have a merry christmas. Couple hours later I checked BS again and all units at the 2 stores where they were availble were sold out. BS listed 6+ at both stores.

Just dumb luck, right place right time. A week ago there was another store that dropped to $74, so while I was out I checked the electronics section at this store and there they were.

BS is not wrong. walmart inventory may be wrong. either wrong due to theft or employees hiding items or items in the back and employees cant find them (truthfully or lazy or everything in between).

there was a deal posted earlier this year for tv mount on clearance. bs/walmart says 10+ in stock. family went and could not find any. walmart employee says they are out. turns out we have a niece that works at that walmart. she found them in the back.
