I see a lot of 27" 144 or 165 hz monitors posted for around $300 but this one is 240 hz.

Edit: Just realized that the other deals are because they are 1440p and these Alienwares are 1080p.

The 24.5" 240hz is also on sale for $279.99.

I got excited until I saw the resolution. This would have matched my Samsung G9 and gave me the equivalent of 3 monitors

I'm a professional photographer but don't do weddings anymore, so I think this is perfectly fine for me. Picked this up at Best Buy for $299 a week ago and returning my Nano IPS 27" 1440p LG monitor. (sold my 2 older monitors which was a 27" IPS and 25" 240hz for gaming)

This is still an IPS monitor--while it doesn't have the contrast the LG does, it's fine and you can compensate for it even as a pro photog. I'd rather save $100 over the LG and also have the 240hz for FPS games.

i have the 25 inch version of this monitor and while its IPS it is not good for color accuracy. yes definitely better than TN but if you do professional color work you may want to check it out in person first

It's a gaming monitor, so you cannot expect 240Hz 1440p and 27" unless you're paying over double this.

As it stands, this is a very decent monitor for more competitive FPS games at this price point. The response time @240Hz is quite good.

I have it and it's fine. I always check with a couple different devices like iPad/iphone to make sure just in case too but so far so good.
