This is a new monitor released this month in October and is a larger version of the U28, and normally goes for $500. It is factory calibrated and supports 98% DCI-P3, one of the widest color gamut ratings I've seen in this price range. 400 nits brightness. Supports HDMI, Displayport, USB-C with 65W charging, 3xUSB 3.0 ports and headphone/audio out. Stand supports height, tilt, swivel but no rotate (few 32" monitors can support rotate due to the size and height of stand that would be required). VESA mountable.
As you know someone's going to say it, yes 60 Hz only.

This is better for someone who prefer monitor stand
120Hz 4K is almost double the price so give it two more years. I don't game but the smoother mouse movement feels luxurious.
The menus don't mention anything about PIP or PBP but this needs to be confirmed from the user manual. In for one.
I do a lot of programming so 32' QHD makes the pixels too big and the text ugly. 28' UHD makes the text too sharp. 32' UHD is perfect for my taste, especially quadranting. 32' is the limit for non-curved displays. I personally am not a fan of curved displays because too high curvature, bent lines, and other oddities. 32'+ ultra wide non-16:9 monitors also look pretty pixelated since most of them are 1440 or 1600 vertical resolution instead of 2160.
I got the HP U28 a while back and the usb-c was not working properly from time to time.

I would say they are approximately equivalent, and if you already have the LG, it's a very fine monitor and you shouldn't worry (I have an LG 27" 4k monitor)
I thought the unit was defective until I found the power button on the bottom right corner.
