You should know that Plaid, Yoodle and companies like them scrape your personal bank account information using your username + password, and then they will use that for their own data mining purposes --- in addition to providing the data to the requesting company as part of their service.
- In this case they are obtaining all your bank transactions over 365 Days and your balance to make it available to Green Dot bank.
- they will maintain this access until you change your Funding Bank account password.
The only way to stop Plaid and Yoodle from harvesting your personal and financial information after you've used any "login to verify your bank" services is by changing your Bank password.
NOTE: Plaid/Yoodle etc can gain access to all your banking information, including mortgages, loans, credit cards etc. as they login to your account pretending to be you and scrape data that your bank may present to you on your bank home page. While in this case scope is limited to your transactions over 365 days and balances, other companies may try to extract as much information as possible about your finances, without you knowing.

Since they have no other funding source option (w/o turning over my entire finances to this no-name bank, or incurring a $25 wire deposit fee) it seems like I'll have to pass on the deal.

Its not a very good interface, pretty clunky but ive been mainly using it as a direct deposit savings account
Thank you for your interest in Kabbage Checking. We need some additional information before we can proceed with our review.
Here's what we need to verify:
Personal Utility Bills (e.g. electric, gas, water)
Marital Status Document
Color Copy of SSN Card or Documentation
Personal Phone Bill
Color copy of your Government Issued ID (Driver's License, Passport, permanent resident card)
Tax Documents
Correct. As of now, my application is pending. Not sure why I was flagged for further identification verification. I have well established credit, don't churn cards or checking accounts.
It's a mystery. :/
It's a mystery. :/
With my application, other than (typing in myself) my ssn and dob, I wasn't asked to submit any other personal, sensitive info/docs. Yet my Cabbage card arrived today.
BTW, this Green Dot debit card isn't tap-friendly apparently
It's a mystery. :/

I guess I need to call and complain.

You provide Kabbage (via Yodle) access to your bank via API and they maintain access to your account with the credentials you have provided... please take a few moments to review how the businesses providing the integration/service work and how they've become "disruptive" in the fintech space.
These new service providers are forcing banks to introduce new APIs, yes, but they are working around the lack of APIs by scraping and harvesting. The concern is moreso the loss of your personal financial information, transaction records etc. to a third party, without the option to easily revoke the access.
that said, based on some light research: Intuit appears to have a partnership model where they offer two types of connections to banks -- https://www.intuit.com/partners/f...y-connect/ -- the Banks that have the "Direct Connection" likely can offer features like the 1099INT output you're referencing.
This appears to be different than what Plaid/Yodle etc do, with a value prop offered to Banks for partnering with Intuit to serve businesses.
