It's not easily replaceable like the Surface Laptop 3, Surface Pro X, or all the newly released Surface's. It involves tearing the laptop down more than most people would be comfortable with.

Seven screws taking off the keyboard then a cover over the SSD. Seems somewhat simple for a laptop if you are careful. Not as easy as on some only two screws.
Not unusual. Some HP's are much more difficult. You have to remove the battery on some of them and such. On one a Chromebook you have to actually remove the entire motherboard now that truly is an expert only thing. Open SO-Dimm slot underneath it.
Not really tearing it down. I posted a video showing how to do it. The only difficult part is plugging back in the keyboard.
The M.2 is 2230 so small but they come up to 1 TB.
Screen resolution kills it for me. 1536 X 1024, not even full HD. It's not as noticable due to the smaller 12.5 screen size, but for the discerning eye, you'll see it. How/why Microsoft would put an inferior screen on a Surface laptop blows my mind. Even the cheaper Surface Go series has full HD.

Is the battery life better or worse than their regular surface pro?
The battery life is pretty decent. My wife has been using it as a daily driver for web browsing and video watching and it can last for almost 8-10 hours.

It's because ưith the FHD, people still use 125% scale to display the text. I think they make the right decision for most users.
