My mailman will hate me but it's ok because around December I always leave a wrapped gift for him as a token of appreciation for his work.

I bought 2 pairs last year and I tried different things to get rid of the rubber Smell and they still had a bad smell emitting from them. I live in an apartment and it was lingering and had to cover them up to not breathe the strong smell. It was during 2020 so I was easily able to resell them at a profit. Maybe leaving then outside would have worked but I didn't have the option to do it.

Used Flex Seal on my old ones not for smell but age (12 years) and leaving black marks on floor and imagine it would end your smell issue immediately (didn't leave any smell on mine after they dried): https://www.homedepot.com/p/FLEX-.../309931221
