Panasonic DP-UB9000 4K Blu-ray Player $799 at Woot.com

It's not quite as cheap (well, relatively speaking) as the B&H Photo deal back in June for $770, but this is a hefty discount on this premium player. Not sure if it's the mark 1 or mark 2 [techweekmag.com] but I don't think there's a huge difference between the two other than different DAC.

Should stave off buyer's remorse for a year or two. Based on a quick web trawl, it doesn't look like Panasonic will be releasing replacements for this line until sometime next year.

I would have thought not, but my Sony 800m2 is noticeably better than my PS5. Why? I have no idea.

Xbox series X|S Blu-Ray drive doesn’t support Dolby Vision

This has many functions specifically for A/V applications. The Analog outputs, XLR for 2 channel. Picture correction and upscaler. This would be a waste of money for anyone not serious about dedicated home theater use. I have an oppo 205 that I paid 1100$ for brand new. Since oppo went out of business we don’t have many blayray players that give us this level of adjustment in the A/V market.

They're not comparable. Neither support Dolby Vision or HDR+ and the UB9000 has waaay more video and audio options. That being said, if you're not a connoisseur of high end setups you won't really notice a difference.

Noise. I have the model down, but tried my Xbox(s), not my new one as I don’t want to risk it breaking with the shortages, and the fans and open chassis makes for quite a bit of noise. Plus, DV.

Best A/V quality fr a disc. Only get a set like this if you have cinema grade equipment to connect it to: 77" C series LG or above, A80 Sony or above or any Panny OLED. Reference quality A/V receiver and sound system.

This one is a conversation piece. You can tell all of your friends how much you spent on a blueray player. When they ask why, you can tell them the differences are not distinguishable by a lay person.

Don't forget projectors. These are a great match for projectors with their tone mapping.

I already have the UB420 in my home theater. I know I don't need the UB9000, but I want it. That being said, I should save my pennies for another subwoofer.

Good deal though!

When regular BluRay Players first released, they were all close to a $1000 or more.

Thank God for the PS3.

What's a good blu-ray that's not so expensive. Is there a decent one for under $200?

Any. This is specifically for high end, $5k+ home theater setups.

There's a lack of Dolby Vision Bluray players under $200 that's decent. I want this, but I don't watch that many blu-rays.
