These boards just went live before the official release event, due to demand certain SKU's will likely be on backorder for weeks or months if you arent able to preorder early.
Also earlier today we got leaks of Intel 12th gen performance and pricing, showing that it will outperform Zen 3 and be cheaper:
What are the most important differentiators when choosing a mobo from this lot?
Who knows. DDR5 vs DDR4 support? A new platform with just leak info. Just see what your wallet is comfortable with and go with that if waiting for legit review is too much of FOMO.
"The overall takeaway from SiSoftware's summary is that the Core i9-12900K isn't a lot faster than the Core i9-11900K. The Alder Lake chip did manage to pull a few victories over the Ryzen 9 5900X, but the margins were small. The Ryzen 9 5900X, on the other hand, outperformed the Core i9-12900K by a significant margin in the majority of the workloads."

What's worse is that in Tomshardware website it says the price of Core i7-12700K is $409 and Core i5-12600K is $289. Newegg is selling these CPU's at a higher premium than the MSRP. Not to mention that the mobo's are overpriced also, as the cheapest one cost $180.
Was hoping that Alder Lake will bring price of Ryzen's down but don't see it yet.

SiSoftware didn't provide the complete specifications of the test systems. There weren't many benchmark results for the Core i9-12900K, so it's too early tp draw any conclusions. More importantly, the company admitted that there is still much optimization work to be done in order to fully exploit Alder Lake's computing potential. Therefore, we recommend you take the following results with a pinch or two of salt.
Part of that article, crazy how you just left that put. Also there have already been a good amount of because showing the opposite
AMD's current offerings will likely still be close enough (at least for the bulk of average users), but it is nonsense how some people wanted to write Intel off just because they tripped so hard on 10nm. They're still an extremely capable powerhouse and just because one of their processes not working out nearly as well as hoped, does not *automatically* mean the same for future ones.
I will be looking for z690 with i5-12400 & DDR4 RAM, not looking to overclock or anything extensive. Any suggestions with that setup? I know I could save some money going with 11/10th gen, but rather get something a little more future proof.

Not just leak info, actual benchmarking from independent media has now occurred. Turns out the intel pre-launch hype train and "leaks" were just BS like with the last two generations of Intel processors. Ryzen still appears to be the go-to for people who want the highest performance.

Post some legit links. I posted the important info from your last comment that you "accidentally" forgot. The links I've seen show the 12900k as a absolute beast. So again post links

Can you post some of the links you found fireballs? Would be interested to read up on the info your talking about that you have seen.
I just grabbed a few random ones for you. But you can just Google 12900k benchmarks and get all kinds of them. Different benchmarks from different testers, all pointing to it being a monster.
