In my opinion.. Don't jump through a bunch of hoops and do all the work required just to try to justify or make use of a great deal on a $12 antenna. Compared to the work and costs involved don't limit yourself or use the $12 as the motivating factor. When it is all said and done... $12 vs $120 for an antenna is not much a difference considering. I'm not claiming that this $12 antenna isn't good enough but that $12 is a small part of the process. Not all free lawn mowers are worth fixing
I live in a fringe area and every bit counts. In my case went all in with a huge fringe UHF/VHF roof mount and distributed to four TVs.
Anyone looking into antennas should do some recon first and see what you are potentially dealing with. UHF and/or VHF, aiming directions, what type of antennae you may need etc.. These are 100% unique to your area and honestly even your actual address and surroundings. These can provide a good baseline for expectations.

Interior, it is less of a concern and not required (though good in theory if you reasonably can). I have a similar Clear stream model in my attic, not grounded. It has performed well over the years.
My understanding is that half di-pole antennas still require a ground for best performance. While the Monoprice doc is vague, this does not appear to be an issue with this solution.
Good luck!

I have one in attic, but since I replaced roof, it lost a couple channels. I'll put this one outside to see, or joiner with current one in attic like discussed? Which option would be better?
