(Just suprised that no one posted this deal that has been on since Oct 25 )
Free Makita tool with this 4.0 AH battery starter kit (2 batteries + 1 charger)

18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion 4.0 Ah Battery and Rapid Optimum Charger Starter Pack, model # BL1840BDC2. It's the same BOGO deal that run on last BF.

While the free tool option of this battery kit is the same as the that comes with the 36V rear handle cirucular saw, the prorated price of the "free tool" is lower due to the lower price tag of the battery kit, i.e. $179 vs $249.

Note: 1) Thre are two other combinations of Makita's free tool option with slightly higher price tag on the respective tool.
2) If the price of battery kit is higher than $179 or free tool is sold out, switch to a different HD store.

There are 14 "free tools" that I could choose from. When added to the cart, it shows the price that I would end up paying for the tool once you return the batteries. Of the ones I checked, the blower was ~$75 (reg ~$130), nicer of the two angle grinders was ~$85 (reg ~$160).

I can still do it...I added the drywall screw tool and it shows up in cart as
$86.93 for the driver
$92.07 for the batteries/charger.

Yep because the receipt splits the items into their own price. So when you return either one, you get a pretty good discount.

Just tried to buy this in the store. It does not ring up separately. And Mark's one as completely free. Thus this is not hackable.

I did online order for instore pick up. The battery kit and tool split the cost.
I personally will keep both of my sets-- the battery price is very good at ~$95 for two 4AH and one quick charger.

Bought through the app this morning. Perfectly hackable for delivery or pickup, picked up my (hacked) order a couple of hours ago. You need to order either through the app or website.
