Not a slick deal. These go for like $13 every day.

I've had nothing but issues with these cheap obd dongles. Only one I found worth buying was obdlink. Cheap ones rarely connect and lack functions. Not worth the money and hassle thinking its the apps
I didn't care much for the free torque app either. I have a dongle which uses 'Fastlink' software which I prefer

Does this device have the option to reset the CEL?
Yes, but that won't make you pass inspection

If you have a Ford vehicle, I recommend getting one of these dongles with an MS-CAN/HS-CAN switch, which will allow you to modify additional settings on the car with something like FORScan [forscan.org]. That being said, you don't need a switch just to read diagnostic codes.

Unless even if you do just need to clear a CEL, this cheap plug-in wireless OB2 readers are generally useless... Partcilty due to really... I mean REALLLLLY bad software/apps.

I would recommend a blue driver if your a semi serious weekend warrior. Yes it's $120 but it blows away my old $300 acutron reader. It punches way above its weight class with highly stable and proven software

If all you need is a CEL reset, just get a $10-$20 acutron WIRED one from Amazon or somewhere, atleast a known brand. Not to mention these no names could seriously screw up your cars computer. Wouldn't risk it

As stated earlier, this will not read advanced codes. It is also largely useless for hybrid vehicles. And then it's wifi and not Bluetooth, which means you can't be connected to both the dongle and the internet, or in some cases you'll just keep getting disconnected.

On top of all that, it's Daily Steals. If you want a cheap Bluetooth OBD reader with a clone ELM327 chip, get one of those mini blue ones of fof eBay for <$10.

These had problem connecting, I found myself turning the car off waiting to connect then opening the app…or was it opening the app first then connecting to the wifi. I'll be lucky to connect on the first try. On top of that you have to find a free software…or buy one. Bluetooth would have been better…then I'm able to search wtf is the code for without turning off the wifi and losing connecting to the device. How often do you really have a CEL? Just go to autozone and get it check for free.

What sources do you have on these reader screwing up the ecu? I don't think it has that function to "tune" the ecu…

Skip this cheap OBD2 and get a BlueDriver. They can be had for $80 on sale, but mine has saved me and family members costly repairs by being able to diagnose current issues (even when the CEL is off) and find issues before they're bad enough to trip a light. Also infinitely helpful when buying a car from a stranger. They can clear lights, but they can't stop them from being read by my Bluedriver after a short test drive (and plus you'll see that they tried to hide something, which is a huge red flag as it is).

I have both. I prefer the wifi, seems faster.
