At this point any price over $60 is probably too much for a native 720p BrandX when native 1080p BrandX's can be found for $110.
Right! Why buy crappy, low light, blurry garbage when you can get crappy, low light, unnoticeably less blurry garbage for a few bucks more?!?! These are great... if you don't care... about everyone who's watching whatever plays through it.
In all seriousness, probably functional if you need a throw away for a few uses, albeit in absolute pitch black darkness. Don't expect much though.

I bought a CL 760[amazon.com] (Chinese white box) 720p projector several years ago for $95 and it got the job done for me in a dark room. It wasn't amazing but it wasn't $600 either and I wasn't expecting a $600 performance. I enjoyed using it.

I was being a smart aleck but wanted people to know what they were getting as well. These are not great devices overall but for the money are just ok. That's why I had the second paragraph.

Anyone got an opinion on where the sweet spot is? I've been looking out for a projector for a family member to replace some garbage one they were using. I think they want to pay $500 at most.
I wish I could reach 10 years into the future and pull out a cheap ultra short throw laser projector. Oh well.
I'm looking for an inexpensive projector to use outdoors on one of those blowup screens, kids backyard movie night kinda thing...can anyone recommend something that is reasonable?..I don't need 4k quality.

I appreciate the link.
I'm seeing several, is there one in particular you'd recommend on an outdoor screen?
Streaming capability would be nice, why I was looking at this one in the OP
