Hey, looks like this is on sale again! Previously was sale for $99. Now it's down to $80. Slicker if you have a RedCard. Target wouldn't PM the order I placed last week so I ordered another to return. Happy hunting!

A mantle is a very effective heat shield. On the rare occasion you use the fireplace the TV stays above the mantle. When fireplace not in use, the TV comes down to a more comfortable viewing level.
If you have smoke and soot coming into the house you need to get your fireplace fixed

I have one of these. Works well. This is a good price compared to what I paid last year.

This would raise the question of why one would want to hang a TV above a fireplace. Yes, it's probably a good viewing location, but soot, smoke and heat aren't exactly the things electronics prefer as a home environment.

We've thought of putting a TV IN our (unused, I'm allergic to smoke) fireplace.

It looks like you can mount a soundbar to it as well? I'm thinking about snagging a sonos arc

I have this. You cannot mount a sound bar, that piece you see at the bottom is the handle to assist in pulling the TV down easier. You'll need a separate attachment which can be purchased on Amazon.

I bought it last yr for $130 , it's good. Mounted 85" sony tv , hold very well adjustable all the way to down.
There's target 15 off 30 might work too.

It's not only about comfort it's not a good location most TVs will look worse at an angle so if you mount them too high the picture will lose contrast

It looks nice as an aesthetic is about the only thing I can come up with. My wife routinely balks that I didn't mount our TV above the fireplace so she can rearrange furniture; never mind the studs I'd have to get through and the hideous amt of cables behind my cabinet.
