I bought a motorcycle. Had people told it's a poor mans version and that I should have just bought the rich mans version of the motorcycle.
But a house in a shitty neighborhood, should have a bought an expensive house.
But something cheap X, Should have bought a nicer Y
Years ago I lost an Omega watch I had acquired back in the 1980's ($2500, Titanium & 18k gold) while out hiking/jogging when it apparently fell out of my pants pocket. I put it there because I changed to my Garmin sports watch.
I contacted local police departments in case anyone found it. Then I contacted Omega and asked if they maintained any sort of serial number list that might flag the watch should it ever come in for a battery change or repair. And their answer was that they didn't and didn't see any reason to do so, which I personally feel is a dereliction of concern on their side, given the price of their watches.
Sure heir watches may be nice, but service after a sale should also be a concern with such expensive items.
The watch has never been found. Yeah, I should have left the watch home, left it in the car or put it in my day pack. Shoulda, woulda, coulda...
