I have this on Switch and picked it up last month on PC. Just the load times make it so much faster on PC that I can't play it on Switch anymore.

It on sale on GOG until the third.

If you keep your expectations low, you can enjoy it on the switch. Texture resolution is quite poor, low framerates, terrible shadows/lighting, but good lord it's freaking XCOM, on the go.

Never played a game before but their upcoming Midnight Suns has me interested in wanting to play 2. Don't have a great PC set up and portability is a huge benefit in my schedule for gaming so I'm likely to go switch. Any tips or recommendations?

Start your first campaign on easy difficulty to get familiar with the gameplay systems without it being too frustrating. If you enjoy it you won't mind starting another play through on a higher difficulty.

Great game. Only downside is replayability as the pc version allows you to get mods like long war which adds way more to game after beating it.

Holy shit two deaths on the FIRST mission. 2nd mission I got wiped and only on veteran (normal) difficulty. It came down to one guy and one alien. Alien had 1 health block left but my rookie missed every time. Great game. Load time isn't too bad if you're not in a hurry.

It's a bit of a challenge to play handheld but not impossible. Hope you have good eyes.

Getting used to the controls but I'll probably get used to them after a few hours.

Go for a walk for an hour or have this download overnight, it's a hefty download even on sleep mode. Or hope you have a usb ethernet adapter.

This game had long load times and was choppy on the PS4 Pro. How the Switch can even boot it up is beyond me.

It's on iOS too. I love the switch but even iOS devices have better specs if you want portability. The downside with both is that map variety goes down. I don't think they're procedural generated.

This is one of those games that is 1000x better on PC with mods. Pretty awesome to have a mobile experience, but I can't imagine going back and playing vanilla.

Does the game just continue with no script or missions...just like sandbox style??
