Bought this at launch hoping that I'd have more fun with it than I did 10 years ago (I stopped after about 2 hours into it because of the controls).

I got about 20 hours into it and I can now say with confidence that IN MY OPINION this game just isn't fun.

I dislike almost everything about this game. The characters on Skyloft, the graphics, the music, the emptiness of the hub world of Skyloft, the dungeons (this game is literally "Oops! All dungeons!" so if you were one of those that disliked Breath of the Wild because of the lack of dungeons, I guess you'll have a blast with this), the antagonist, Link/Zelda's visual designs, the motion controls and even the updated controls. It feels like a straight up chore while playing this game.

I haven't played the CD-i Zelda games or the DS games but out of all of the other console/handheld Zelda games, this one is the flat out worst.

Great game. The price isn't all that good though.

As far as I know, there is nothing new on the switch version versus the wii version except for the button controls to allow switch light owners to play. I never played this game during the wii days, but I rented this switch version from GameFly and I returned it without even finishing. My joycons kept disconnecting so the motion controls were quite painful. The button controls were better if a little awkward. Overall though, I found the game to be a bit boring and bland so I moved on to other things. Obviously just my opinion, but I'm not a fan of this game.

Seems like a good price. Is this iteration worth buying if you've already got the Wii version? (sorry if it's a dumb question)

I never got past the first temple in the Wii version (hated motion controls), but I'm about 18 hours into it on the Switch.

Looks good, combat is fun, and the re-mapped controls work well enough. There's a few nuisances that get annoying, along with a few enemy types that I still struggle with hitting correctly but I'm having a lot of fun with it, regardless.

The fact that they still didn't implement a left-handed option for this game makes it a no-go for me. The remapped button option is a little better, but I've heard mix reviews of its implementation. Of course they only did that not because of accessibility, but because of necessity due to the existence of the Switch Lite. Nintendo and accessibility as a whole is just awful.

Is this game still playable on the Switch Lite, since it seems like you need motion controls?

You don't need motion controls. t can be played without them. They introduced a new system using the right analog stick. There are videos about this, if you want to check it out beforehand.

Also the motion controls are still there if you want.

Already have this on wii from 10 years ago. Worth paying again for updated features?

It runs at 60fps that is by far the biggest change

The updated features are minimal. It just looks better and they added button controls. If you are dying to play it again then this is the better version, but I don't think the features themselves warrant an additional play through.

Wonder if it'll go lower. Part of me kind of wants even though I bought it for the wii full price and only got an hour in before the hand holding became too much.

I'm having a blast with it, but at some point the back and forth does get a little too repetitive.

I'm doubtful we'll see much lower of a price for BF, but will someone be running a discounted price + a b2g1 free tho?...
