I have annoying lower back pain, meaning that some heavy and/or twisting tasks will aggravate/intensify it, and this has definitely helped quite a bit. I'm not an expert on back braces and don't have a debilitating/overly serious issue, but for what I guess would be considered a lower-level issue, this thing works great and well worth the $16.
