Have no idea why, but after activating the offer (and using points), there was no discount.

Is it possible I'm just using the wrong card? I have multiple Amex cards, that might be the issue.

Great offer, just got the $30 max discount, thank you!

PS: if the price of an item jumps up from a low price (as usually happens), try calling customer service (they call you) within 48hrs to ask if they will honor that low price. Amazon just did me a solid and provided a courtesy credit on an item that was in my cart. Combined with the 30% Amex offer, a very slick deal!

Are you buying items sold and ship by amazon? It does not work on items from third party sellers.

Yeah I am... Weird. Originally a prompt came up saying that the code was activated but it couldn't be applied to my order, now when I click on it I get a message saying that my card isn't eligible. Oh well.

I've never had trouble applying 1 pt to get the discount and using gift card balance to pay the remainder of the order in the past, but I now seem to be unable to get this combination to work. Even if I set the Amex card as the default payment and Pay with Points to Apply by Default, when I go to checkout, Amazon automatically selects the gift card balance as payment with no discount. I can switch the payment method to the Amex and set it to apply 1 point and the discount will appear, but then no way to use my gift card balance to pay the remainder.

Gift card payment never work for these kind of promotion. You need to use the point card to pay to get the discount.
