I wish the fan blew on the battery more. After I use the Chainsaw it seams to take 30+ min to cool down before it starts to charge.
Same with angle grinder, reciprocating saw, every flexvolt, etc.
That's a big flaw with batteries from most companies they trap heat in their case.
When I got my first bosch core, I used a 4ah in a vac, and it was 130f on outside of battery. But it got to room temp in less than 10 minutes because they designed the battery to expel the heat, and not hold it in the case (which other companies REALLLLY need to do).
The battery issues Dewalt has had these last two years (and waiting months for warranty to be done) is about to get worse with the Power Stack. There's several good reasons no one has used those types of batteries in a power tool before ... https://www.reddit.com/r/spicypillows
Now there are pillow batteries that can handle the abuse, but their price is so high to manufacture (safely) that it's impractical to use in a battery.... or Festool would have $1,400, 5ah batteries lol.
Is this one any better?
DCB102BP for dewalt Battery Charger, LENMAX DCB102 3A Dual USB& Dual Fast Charger Compatible with dewalt 20V Tools DCB102 DCB104 DCB118 DCB115 for Dewalt 20V/60V MAX Lithium Battery DCB205-2 DCB204
Not a terrible deal by any means, but I pick this things up on the e of bayness for $40-45 new all day. Look for new "open box" which means they are plucked from kits new.
That one is not better on so many levels. It's not a DeWalt product… it's made by a third party. Additionally it has a max output of 3A. The DeWalt charger that this thread is about has a max output of 8A, so it can charge nearly three times faster.
