Not sure if this was a system error or if they are running some sort of a special. I went to GameStop today to trade in some old games. On their website, it said that I would only get around $25-$27 per game, if I was a pro member. About $2.50 less if I wasn't a pro member.
So I signed up for a pro membership since its only $15/year. I figured that 3 games would give me back around $6 plus any coupon in the future would pay for itself.
When they rang up my trade in games, I received $40 per game! I traded in 3 old games and got $120 worth of store credit! The store clerk was surprised himself. He was mentioning to his coworker how Nintendo Switch give the best value for trade ins.
I traded in Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Pokémon Sword for a total of $120.
Great value for games that I have played already and wasn't planning on replaying any time soon!
YMMV. Again, I am not sure if this was some sort of a glitch, as their website said that it would be around $25-27 per game. Take your old Switch games to a GameStop with a Pro membership and try it! Worth a shot to get some value from those old games that are collecting dust.
Update: Thanks to 'Dealzhunterx' for letting us know that GameStop is offering an extra 50% trade in value on certain games!
Also thanks to to Spaceman6969 for more information:
Offer may end Saturday, Nov. 6th, 2021.
"Example: Turok 2 for Nintendo Switch:
$20 credit for pro member. $16 cash for pro member.
50% trade in credit promotion. Cash not eligible
50% of $20 (/2) = extra $10 trade in credit
NOT $20 x 2 = $40. (Lot of folks misunderstood this equation.)
$20 + $10 = $30 total credit value.
Idk about accessories but I know game works like that"

I'd be careful about trading in multiple copies of a game.
