Terms
A minimum deposit of $25 is required to open a U.S. Bank consumer checking account. Earn a $200 or $400 bonus by opening a new U.S. Bank consumer checking account, excluding Student Checking and Safe Debit Account, by December 6, 2021. Additionally, you must enroll in online banking or the U.S. Bank Mobile App within 60 days of opening your account. You must also complete two or more direct deposits within 60 days of opening your account that total: $2,500 to $4,999.99 to earn the $200 bonus or $5,000 or more to earn the $400 bonus. A direct deposit is an electronic deposit of your paycheck or government benefits, such as Social Security, from your employer or the government. Other electronic deposits or person-to-person payments are not considered a direct deposit. The checking bonus will be deposited into your new checking account within 60 days of direct deposit verification and verification of enrollment in online banking or the U.S. Bank Mobile App as long as your account is open and has a positive balance. Bonus will be reported as interest earned on IRS form 1099-INT and recipient is responsible for any applicable taxes. Offer may not be combined with any other checking account bonus offers. I called because the prompt popped up telling me to do so when I tried logging in and the lady on the phone told me that this is a "security measure" that they have in place. If you add Zelle to your account and your account is new, your online account access will be locked out for 48 hours and they can't override it, you'll have to ride out the 48 hours. They didn't even have any sort of FYI or prompt to at least make the user aware of this. Imagine if you needed to make adjustments to your account and it's urgent. Strike 1.
I then asked her to see if she could check on my account that the promo code was applied correctly and she just straight up transferred me to a local branch without any sort of advance notice and it's 7:30 in the morning so the branch ain't even opened. Strike 2.
This is some trash ass customer service and I'm moving my money back to Chase as soon as I get my bonus. Lol
