Earning: The Venture X will earn 10 miles per dollar on hotels and car rentals booked via Capital One Travel, 5 miles per dollar on flights booked via Capital One Travel and an unlimited 2 miles per dollar on everything else.

This looks like a great card for travel compared to Chase Sapphire Reserve and Amex Platinum. Especially I like the lower annual fee part and the sign up bonus also looks generous.

Edit: I mean British airways, not Alaska airlines.
How long so I have to get that fee refunded and downgrade to a free CC?

$500 in credit statement OR
$800 in gift cards (physical, no digital unless you link to Amazon or Paypal for redemption) OR
$1000 in travel reimbursement or spend through their agency portal
You can transfer to partners - BA and hotels are 1:1, most other major airlines are 0.8:1 (800 miles for 1000 Venture points). EDIT - most airline partners are currently 1:1 (as pointed out later in this thread). This is different from when I went to redeem a month ago, so I would not count on the 1:1 being a guarantee in the future. Also, fwiw, there are no major US carriers on the direct transfer list.
TPG getting $1850 equivalent is like saying Marriott points are a good deal - only if you use them in a very, very limited way. Ex: if you use BA points to fly American on AASaver fares for direct, shot flights within CONUS then, yes, worth it. As a cash-back program it's pretty poor.
