Here are the initial card details of the Venture X card:

Earning: The Venture X will earn 10 miles per dollar on hotels and car rentals booked via Capital One Travel, 5 miles per dollar on flights booked via Capital One Travel and an unlimited 2 miles per dollar on everything else.
Statement credit: Up to $300 back in statement credit annually for bookings made through Capital One Travel.
Anniversary bonus: 10,000 bonus miles every account anniversary, starting on your first anniversary (worth $100 toward travel).

Authorized users: Up to four authorized users can be added at no charge, and AUs get Capital One Lounge access with up to two guests.

Annual fee: $395.

This looks like a great card for travel compared to Chase Sapphire Reserve and Amex Platinum. Especially I like the lower annual fee part and the sign up bonus also looks generous.

It's also worth noting that there are no direct US carriers in the transfer portal.
Note: I like Capital One for the single-use credit card number and the ability to have those numbers auto-expire on a date I set. I just don't think their bonus programs are all that if you're sole redemption isn't through bill credits for travel.
I presume you mean without the bonus. If they offer you something for the trade up, please post back - I've actually got some int'l travel brewing and I'm on the fence about the upgrade being worth it.

To me Citi credit cards work a lot better as TYP can be transferred 1:1 to Eva.

No one will argue AMEX offers are not a great value, however.

I spoke to AMEX about their "coupons" to express my displeasure. They said they have an overwhelming positive response to them. Either they are full of it or I'm the outlier. I eventually opted to downgrade to the Gold card and they pointed out I took advantage of a lot of the benefits of the Plat like the $200 incidental credit and the $15/mo. Uber credit. They don't understand there is a difference between using them because you are forced to in order to get some value or using them because you need them.
