Capital One is launching its first-ever premium travel credit card, Venture X

Here are the initial card details of the Venture X card:

Welcome bonus: The Venture X will launch with an offer of 100,000 bonus miles after spending $10,000 on purchases in the first six months, and for a limited time, cardholders can also get up to $200 in statement credits for vacation rental purchases like Airbnb and Vrbo charged to their account within the first year.

Earning: The Venture X will earn 10 miles per dollar on hotels and car rentals booked via Capital One Travel, 5 miles per dollar on flights booked via Capital One Travel and an unlimited 2 miles per dollar on everything else.

Statement credit: Up to $300 back in statement credit annually for bookings made through Capital One Travel.

Anniversary bonus: 10,000 bonus miles every account anniversary, starting on your first anniversary (worth $100 toward travel).

Lounge access: Complimentary access for cardholders, authorized users and up to two guests per visit to Capital One Lounges and to more than 1,300 Priority Pass lounges worldwide.

Authorized users: Up to four authorized users can be added at no charge, and AUs get Capital One Lounge access with up to two guests.

Global Entry or TSA PreCheck: Up to $100 in statement credits for either TSA PreCheck or Global Entry.

Annual fee:
$395.

Application link: https://www.capitalone.com/credit...venture-x/

This looks like a great card for travel compared to Chase Sapphire Reserve and Amex Platinum. Especially I like the lower annual fee part and the sign up bonus also looks generous.

I got charged for my annual fee by CSR on Nov. 1.

How long so I have to get that fee refunded and downgrade to a free CC?
I called asked same question, 45 days from statement charge to cancel. I tried one call so far for credit or points in lieu of full fee. No luck yet, will try again within 45 days and prob cancel after cashing out points.Applause

830 and still denied. My score took a hit bc I closed out a card recently so doesn't look great for me if they are denying 830. I had hesitation switching from csr mostly due to the $300 credit being g so easy to cash in on csr as opposed to having to use the Cap1 portal but with its lower fee and annual point bonus I think it's the way to go.

I checked the hotel rate both from capitalone travel portal and hotels.com, and there was a $100 difference for the $1500 quote. It made the 10x look worthless.

Those with a CSR, what is the best chase card to downgrade to and still keep your ultimate rewards?
Product change to one of their Freedom cards such as Freedom Flex or Freedom Unlimited.

From Capital One Travel: "If you find a better price, we'll match it. Let us know within 24 hours of booking, and we'll refund you the difference."

Thanks. That's what I'll do. To note, it doesn't appear they are too concerned with the influx of account closings or downgrade. I guess downgrade wouldn't hurt them much if you'll still be swiping with the downgraded card.

Food and drinks are included for the lounges so you can eat and drink as much as you want.

I first got priority pass two years ago and will never travel without having a membership LOL

I was having a CSR but can no longer justify the 550 AF. Applied for Venture X and got approved instantly. Have a 810 score and have QuickSilver with C1.
One main draw for me was that Authorized Users are free of charge and they also get their own Priority Pass. This is a fantastic benefit.
Now I need to figure out a way to spend 10K in 6 months.

The credit applies each cardmember year; the credit timing isn't based on the calendar year.

Could pay your Federal Estimated taxes for this year with it and get that money refunded once you file your return. Downside is you lose 1.99% of your money as you have to pay the credit card fees (that is roughly $200) so not terrible but its a relatively easy way to hit your spend mark just means waiting for a while to get your money back from the government depending on how quickly you can file your return
