I was getting $25 in amazon gift card for 8th gen Fire HD8 and then additional 20% refund ($9 off) after I return my old Fire Hd8.

This has built-in ads to help subsidize the cost? How big of a deal is the advertising?

What is the screen resolution? It says "HD"? Is that 720p or 1080p?

It's 1280x800 and plays movies at 720p

It's a bit of a pain but easy enough to make them disappear. Google 'fire toolbox'.

I contacted Amazon support. The give Amazon gift card back as soon as trade in is accepted
