Shimano Sedona is my favorite reel type. It's a little bit more but they last forever. The 2500s are the middle of the road for freshwater fishing [walmart.com]. I have a 500 though too for pan fishing. Good luck and thumbs up OP for fishing!!!

This reel is great, and especially at this price. I have a President XT which is the same reel but with a cork handle (and minor cosmetic differences). My brother has two of these and they're like butter.

These are great reels, even though I love the Shimano reels more, I own a few Pflueger reels and never had any issues.

oof, too light. need 20lb to handle a redfish. i'm guessing this is more of a small freshwater rig. doesn't mention saltwater
