Not sure how this deal is any better than Bose QC II or Sony 1000xm3 for over half of this price cuz I don't know. Anyone chime in?

I have the XM4's and it's a slightly different listening experience. The APMs are not as muddy in lows, the clamping force is a bit tighter on my head, and the ear cups are more breathable. Here's a good review that convinced me to get them even though I had the XM4.

From my experience, tweaking your EQ with the Sonys will give you the best listening experience of the bunch - but it's complete preference. Its hard to justify the APM pricetag, unless you're b deep in the ecosystem already - in which case, it'll be a little more convenient. Again, complete preference.

I snagged these off costco in black for 420 bucks or so, 50 off 500 and they had a discount, recommend these from costco.

Never know if they go bad, and expensive. lifetime costco returns.

They don't even support lossless codecs, do they?

Fwiw, I was in Amazon store yesterday returning something. They gave me a 20% off coupon off anything in store. Shelf prices of Xm4 was 249, Bose 35 179.

In short, no lossless.

To the best of my knowledge no Bluetooth connected headphones do, since the data rate required for lossless exceeds what Bluetooth can handle.

With the 3.5mm adapter you can get close to lossless, but there is still an analog->digital->analog conversion in headset that technically adds loss.

Codecs are a function of your music source and not the headphones.
This is categorically wrong. This depends on the codec supported by the headphones. These don't support ALAC, only the lossy AAC.

For wired headphones: Digital file (AAC/ALAC) -> DAC -> analog signal

For wireless headphones: Digital file (AAC/ALAC) -> Bluetooth transmitter (AAC/ALAC) -> headphones DAC -> analog signal

From what I read from Apple's Website, "Current Bluetooth Technology" doesn't support 100% lossless audio… so, a wired headphone with a digital/analog converter is the best way to listen to lossless audio, today. I'm sure they will find a way to fix this in the future.

FYI - You lose audio quality during that conversion in the Bluetooth transmitter…

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe ALL electronics at Costco have 90 day warranties - not lifetime
