This is very basic. Only has a left right adjustment for the shoot. To adjust height or distance there is a wing nut screw you have to loosen.
$285 shipping so it's pretty much pick up only. Good find OP, I've been looking for this but no Menards around here.
You can never follow that MSRP crap. Who the heck knows where they even pull those numbers from. The biggest abusers, save for the current situation we are in, were always the auto manufacturers. Listing cars at $35,000 MSRP, meanwhile the price you actually pay on the lot could be $5,000 less assuming you aren't gullible and actually negotiate the price down.

I would never pay attention to the MSRP. This seems like a legitimate price for a snow-blower of this caliber. 20 years ago, my father paid $600 for a 6.5 HP snow-blower from Northern Tool. I used that thing up until last year when I finally went for something bigger due to the crappy winters we can sometimes get on Long Island. We get a lot of wet snow here, so I needed something, with a more powerful engine, that could throw it.

It has worked quite well for a basic 2-stage and I'm able to help a couple of neighbors with more limited blowers. Only real issue is that was a bit slower with wetter snow with chute periodically clogging up. I live on one acre in a hillside in the SW Chicago suburbs next to forest preserves. Paid roughly the same price at Menards. Important that it does the job.

I bought a dual stage show Thrower from Sears 10 years ago that was 24 inch width and 21 inch height with electric start and self propelled 6 gears and 2 reverse for $500 which was originally sold at $799.99. That was a mindset back then that this is a huge sale. Now the same spec snow thrower is marketed to 1129 as original price and then brought down to $580 after rebate us just too sad to see how inflation has gone up and not sure if the quality has come down along with that.

I used to be a Sears salesman too back then selling these machines. Seems like the machine is very similar is shape and size even today and perhaps the manufacturer is MTD like it did for Craftsman.

But man this is just way too costly of things now. Wow.

Oh yuck. That would be miserable.

I personally wouldn't cheap out on a blower, but to each their own. I'm just glad I bought my new Ariens Platinum 30 SHO last year as the price jumped a good $300 this year.

Probably the old basic kind with the pin in the hub for single or double wheel drive.

It works. Sometimes they go cheap on parts and things break often. Like the starter gears.

I've used the Craftsman version of this model (same motor, same design) for 3 seasons in Wisconsin now with a large driveway. It starts very reliably, has plenty of power to handle deep snow, gets enough traction that it doesn't require chains, and throws the snow pretty far. I paid $500 for it when it was on sale, but it wasn't a super deal back then, so $570 is a decent price if you need one, but not an amazing deal...

I would recommend getting some sort of shield for it. When the winds are blowing and the snow is light and powdery, you really get a face full of shit.

$500 three years ago and only 14% more now after the last year of killer inflation? I'd say this is an equivalent deal to what you got. I paid $1000 for an Ariens Deluxe 30" in 2009. It's maybe a bit better than this, but it doesn't have lights or heated hand grips or a lever to adjust how high the snow gets thrown, etc. But, like this unit, it has all of the basics: a steel chute, a crank to direct the snow, a Briggs & Stratton engine, etc., and it still starts as easily as day 1. Sure, this isn't an Ariens, but it appears to be built about as well, and 12 years later it's nearly half what I paid.
