I'm still waiting on Kasa to make the 3-way dimmers available.

But yeah requiring neutrals in both switch locations is limiting for those who own older homes where neutrals may not be available in one or both switch locations.

These Kasa smart switches, in addition to providing the normal on/off switching of a dumb switch, need also to communicate with your WiFi router - it needs the neutral wire to power the "always on" WiFi radio built in to the switch to provide the smart functionality.
Keep in mind that there are alternative smart switches that don't require a neutral wire, most notably the Lutron Caseta line, but they use their own proprietary hub rather than WiFi, and are considerably more expensive (~$65/switch).
I don't know what is going on but I have 5 of the hs200's and one hs220
And a few days ago they all stopped working at the same time
I noticed today that by back room lights were on and I could not turn them off in Alexa ,then I tried Google home and not working in there either ,so then I tried smart things since both voice assistants use these switches through smart things and not the kasa skill
I was sure it must be a smart things issue because it has had so many since the migration but no not working in there either
Then I went to the kasa app and saw that all 6 of my devices are unreachable
Then I remembered getting a notification from either Alexa or Google about kasa service needing to be linked
So I clicked the notification and linked it but then remembered that I use it through smart things and shouldn't have linked it
So I unlinked it right after
This was about 2 or 3 days before I noticed my back room lights were on and I never go in there and never turned them on
So they all must have stopped working the day I got the notification to link the kasa service to the voice assistant
Because they stopped working with Smart things I assume the voice assistant redetected them as new devices under kasa
So today I tried to get them to work again and they will not reconnect
I have rebooted the switches and the router a bunch of times and in different order and timing
They will not reconnect
One time one of them reconnected but was only available for local control and I was not able to switch on the remote control option , it just says the device has no internet
They had been really reliable up until this point too
They (and Phillips wiz) were the only devices still working through smart things after they ended support for my gen 1 hub
The only devices I didn't have to mess with during the migration to the aotec
I don't know if they got hacked or if I did or what is going on but someo is going on for all six devices to stop working all at once
had these working for about a year now and real reliable till now ,I just don't know what happened
